Rule 12.29. Expenses of prospective and selected state grand jurors

a. General Requirements. Lodging and meal expenses shall be reimbursed to those persons called for prospective grand jury impanelment and those persons serving on the State Grand Jury, who must travel over fifty miles one way to attend a State Grand Jury session and who incur such expenses either the night before a session of the State Grand Jury or the night after a grand jury session that extends long enough to preclude the juror's returning to the juror's residence at a reasonable hour, as so determined by the Assignment Judge.

b. Limitation of Expenses. The financial limitations on such expenses shall be the same as those imposed on State employees by statute and regulation.

c. Exceptional Circumstances. In exceptional cases, the Assignment Judge may permit recovery of expenses not provided for in this Rule by prospective State grand jurors and by those actually serving on a State Grand Jury.
